Congressional Research Service Issues Report on Medicare Secondary Payer

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) recently issued a 29-page report entitled, “Medicare Secondary Payer: Coordination of Benefits”.  The report examines a wide range of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance topics including: MSP and group health plans, MSP and liability plans, MSP and workers’ compensation plans, conditional payments, Medicare Set-Asides, the SMART Act, MMSEA Mandatory Reporting, and many others.

The CRS, an arm of the Library of Congress, provides political and legal analysis exclusively for the United States Congress.  CRS has a staff of approximately 600, and an annual budget of approximately $106 million.
